ParentAssess is a specialist framework designed to assess parents with a learning disability or additional needs such as mental health, trauma, exploitation, domestic abuse, alcohol or drug misuse and offending.
Developed by Independent Social Worker Sarah Lowe, who has 30 years’ experience working with children and adults with learning disabilities, ParentAssess is designed to be clear, understandable and measurable to parents and legal advocates.
What sets me apart from other independent social workers?
I have personal and professional experience of supporting people that have SEND. I am a trained ADOS-2 (autism assessor) and I regularly conduct private autism assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team. I am also an expert witness for the first-tier special educational needs tribunal and I carry out social care needs assessments to help inform the tribunal of a child or young persons needs and the provision to meet those needs.
I am passionate about delivering support and conducting quality assured assessments that are tailored to an individual persons needs. I believe it is important to have that in depth knowledge and understanding in how best to communicate and support individuals with additional needs whilst conducting such crucial assessments which determine decisions and outcomes.
In addition to ParentAssess I offer the following services:
Supervised contact
Section 7 assessments
Viability assessments
SGO assessments
I accept referrals from local authorities, solicitors and courts.
